Tan Medics is a PROFESSIONAL competition tanning service that began in late 2012. Our products were custom designed and developed in an actual lab with an extensive team effort. Spearheaded by a widely recognized and respected successful contest coach - who was originally looking for a superior product to use on his own clients, no stone was left unturned in forming a design dream team of the highest level of professional input. On that design team:
1. A full-time PROFESSIONAL COLOR LAB TECHNICIAN
2. A full-time PROFESSIONAL STAGE LIGHTING DIRECTOR
3. A full-time PROFESSIONAL SPRAY TECHNICIAN
4. 2 top notch PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHERS and VIDEOGRAPHERS
5. A long time, detail oriented COMPETITION COACH
After several months in lab with this dream team of experienced professionals in a collaborated group effort, we created a RICH, DEEP DARK COCOA BROWN , not orange or red or yellow as many others services are, in short, the most perfect, physique enhancing color that you can possibly put in front of the human eye! Our color is custom formulated for optimal spray application, and to work best with competition stage lighting and professional photography equipment. Putting it bluntly, WE HAVE THE BEST, MOST DURABLE COMPETITION COLOR AVAILABLE ANYWHERE, PERIOD.
But, we didn't stop there. Those who are applying Tan Medics Competition Color are experienced, Certified Spray Tan Technicians who have been further developed and trained in the specifics of competition color and application. You can rest assured that your color is being applied by a full-time tanning salon spray technician, not by an amateur part-time tanner.
HERE ARE A FEW POINTERS WE LEARNED FROM OUR DESIGN TEAM:
With Tan Medics Competition Color your tan is performing at its peak, just as your physique should, when you are standing in front of the judges. Did you know that the color of your tan changes depending on the light source you are standing beneath at the moment? We're not just talking about bright lights washing it out and making it appear lighter than it was before going on stage, we're talking about actual color change. This is referred to by color professionals as "color shift." An example is a red car that looks bright red in the full sun will also often look more like orange-red at night under parking lot lighting. This is because there is an influence of the light source on what the eye actually sees. In other words, the original color is shifting to a new variation as it is influenced by the overhead lighting. Stage lighting, complete with the various colors of gels or lenses attached to the lights (input from our Stage Lighting Professional), collectively shift your color from what you see backstage to a more orange appearance on stage. Do you ever see the photos of yourself from your competition and wonder why you look so orange or even red? This is why. Did you also know that the glaze you use (even if it is cooking spray) also shifts your color a little further red? Try this, the next time you are backstage and someone is "glazing" or "oiling" you, once they do the first arm or leg, quickly compare it to the side that hasn't been glazed yet. See if the glazed side doesn't look a little more red/orange than the unglazed side. This was taken into account when our color was developed. This is also why we repeatedly say, "do you want to look your best in the tent, or on the competition stage?" Additionally, did you know that our design team is always consulted - in particular our color lab technician - with a report of all the physical characteristics involved EACH time a new venue is selected? Those physical characteristics involve, color of the stage surface, backdrop or curtains behind the stage, the overhead lighting above the stage, front lighting, and side wash lighting. Does your weekend tanner do all of this!? ALL OF THESE FACTORS are taken into consideration as our PROFESSIONAL COMPETITION COLOR is formulated for each changing venue environment.
